Is Race Academy an AI coach?

No, and deliberately so. Race Academy never uses AI and it never guesses. It reads your telemetry and tells you what the numbers say.

It has four parts:

  • Session Laps, every lap of the session broken down.
  • Lap Replay, watching your fastest lap back with your line and your inputs.
  • Coach, which works to six explicit rules: brake later, carry more speed, get to power earlier, smooth your hands, refine your line, and single lap technique.
  • Communities, so you can study another driver's saved lap against your own.

That last one is where the value tends to be. A shared lap carries the lap trace, the sector splits, the conditions it was set in, and the tyre pressures, temperatures, wear and driver aid settings. A lap time on its own only tells you somebody was quicker; a lap with their aids and tyre state tells you whether it is a lap you could actually copy.

Race Academy needs a Team Principal membership or above. Track Rivals, which is the competition side rather than the study side, starts at Pit Crew.
