What are the button behaviours on my steering wheel LEDs?

Open Daniel Newman Racing > Steering Wheels > Button Effects and click a button on the wheel diagram. Each button gets one of four behaviours.

  • No Effect. The button LED stays on the theme colour and does nothing of its own.
  • Press. The LED lights in your chosen Press Colour while the button is pressed, then returns. Press Effect Duration sets how many milliseconds it stays lit after you release, so a quick tap is still visible.
  • Toggle. The LED holds one of two colours to show a state you are tracking yourself. Set Toggle Colour ON and Toggle Colour OFF separately, and pressing the button switches between them.
  • Effect. The LED is driven by live telemetry rather than by your press, using one of the game effects such as Headlights, DRS or Pit Limiter.

Press and Toggle are for buttons the game gives us no telemetry for, so the wheel still shows you what you have done. Effect is for anything the game does report.

Per button colours are only editable on the Custom theme, and they are locked while Universal Theme is on.
