What are the idle animations and how do I change them?

Idle animations run when SimHub is open but you are not in a session, so on the desktop or in menus. Each device has its own Idle Mode or Idle RPMs tab.

The animations are: DNR Wave, Breathe, Sweep, Bounce, Comet, Fill and Drain, Centre Out, Theatre Chase, Alternate, Twinkle, Wipe, Solid and Colour Fade.

Alongside the animation you can set:

  • Idle Animation Total Time, which sets the speed
  • Run It Backwards, which reverses the direction
  • Brightness for idle separately from racing
  • A Colour Theme, or Custom with Colour 1 and Colour 2

There is a live PREVIEW so you can see it before committing.

Idle animation duration is a universal setting applied across all DNR devices, so they animate in step rather than drifting apart.

Steering wheel and button box idle themes work slightly differently: they have an ANIMATION choice of Static or Breathing, plus a Dim Effect so the rig is not glaring at you from the desktop. Flag boxes have their own Idle Screen options instead.
