FAQAccount & Getting Started
What are backup codes and how do I use them?
Backup codes are one-time-use recovery codes generated when you set up two-factor authentication. They allow you to sign in if you lose access to your authenticator app.
Important things to know:
- Each code can only be used once and is invalidated after use
- Store your codes somewhere safe - a password manager is ideal
- When you run out, disable and re-enable 2FA to generate a fresh set
To use a backup code during sign-in:
- On the 2FA verification screen, click Lost access? Use a backup code
- Enter one of your saved backup codes
- Click Verify to sign in
If you've lost both your authenticator app and all your backup codes, please contact support@danielnewmanracing.com for account recovery assistance.
